14k Gold Filled
Gold-filled jewelry is made by chemically bonding layers of 14K solid gold around a base metal, offering durability and long-lasting shine. Unlike gold-plated pieces, gold-filled jewelry contains a measurable amount of gold and won't peel, chip, or discolor with proper care.
Sterling silver
Sterling silver naturally tarnishes over time due to exposure to air, moisture, and chemicals, leaving a black layer on the surface. This reaction is normal and doesn't mean your jewelry is damaged.
14k solid gold
Solid gold jewelry is made entirely of gold, making it a high-value investment piece that retains its beauty and value over time. It's resistant to tarnishing and fading and requires minimal.
14k rose gold filled

- Regularly clean your jewelry with Dawn Dish Soap™ and water to maintain its sparkle
- Avoid direct contact with lotions, oils, perfumes, and ocean or pool water, as these can dull the jewelry.
Use a silver jewelry cleaner with a soft cloth to gently buff away tarnish.
Rinse with warm water and dry thoroughly.
Makeup, sweat, chlorine, and products like sunscreen can accelerate tarnishing
Regular cleaning helps preserve its shine and longevity
- Use water and Dawn Dish Soap™ to gently brush the jewelry. Dry it with a cleaning cloth or paper towel to restore its shine.
- Dark Rings: When exposed to heat or changes in your pH levels, you might notice a dark ring on your skin. This is a normal chemical reaction caused by contact with makeup, sweat, acidity, or products like lotion and perfume. It's not tarnish and can be easily wiped off with a makeup or alcohol wipe.
Note: 24k gold is softer and can be more easily scratched, so we recommend 14k for everyday wear.
We custom fit a chain to your wrist, neck, ankle or finger. We then use a welder for an easy and painless process. Instead of using a clasp we use a tiny jump ring to connect and weld the two ends of the chain, turning it into a "permanent" piece of jewelry.
No pain is involved. All you will feel is the joy of having your new permanent piece of jewelry.
You can simply cut the jump ring used to weld the chain together with a nail clipper or sharp scissors. Save it all in a safe place to be re-welded at one of our future events.
- Gold-filled jewelry is hypoallergenic but may cause reactions in individuals sensitive to brass.
Choosing your chain and charms typically take the longest! Once you've made your choice, the welding process can take less than 5 minutes.

Permanent Jewelry Repairs
We get it – life happens! At Bound, we’re here to ensure your permanent jewelry keeps shining.
Repair Options
- Reweld is Free: If your permanent jewelry breaks or needs repair due to wear and tear, we’ll reweld it at no charge .
- Resizing: First resizing is free. After that adding or shortening chain length is $10.
Repairs for Non-Bound Jewelry
If you need rewelding or resizing for jewelry not purchased from Bound, the fee is $10.
Local Repairs
If you live locally in Hilo, Hawaii, simply visit us, and we’ll reweld your chain for you.
Out-of-Town Repairs
If you’re not local, you can contact us for a return shipping address.
We’ll add a clasp and ship it back to you so you can continue wearing your piece.
Lost Jewelry Policy
If your permanent jewelry breaks and is lost within the first 30 days of purchase, you’re eligible for a replacement chain at 50% off the original cost.
